Who is Faygin?
Urchins by nature are very haphazard. They run around, bump into things, steal anything that isn't bolted down (sometimes just steal the bolts), and have a high sugar diet. Is this why they need a Faygin? No. Does the Faygin introduce a healthier diet plan? Also no. Does Faygin stop them stealing bolts? No again. But at least they know which draw to put the bolts in. Faygin is THEIR leader, the leader of the London Urchins, but it doesn't happen by chance. Its origins started when Dodger, Manchego and the Treasure Hunter came back after a long trip only to find the Urchins hadn't done anything they were meant to have done. The washing wasn't done, Æmber wasn't put in the safe, Sanctum officers hadn't been given their monthly "good will" payments, and clients were getting impatient that their contracts weren't fulfilled. They soon realised an authority figure was needed to keep the Urchins in check whilst they were away. Someone who could manage each Urchin, give each member a purpose and up-skill each Urchin so they could take on more dangerous and expensive contracts. With many good options to whom could be such a leader, the 3 decided to hold quarterly card tournaments. Tournaments where the players were introduced to new rules and regulations to see who could overcome the challenge. Once these were handled, there needed to be rules for the winner. Who could enter? What standards would the new Faygin have to bring in? What challenges would prove that the Faygin is worthy? And now the Urchins have their Faygin. ...now ask yourself this, where is your wallet? |
